Default Advice for a cylinder tank lid?

I have a glass cylinder tank with a plexiglass top, about 18 inches long and 18 inches wide. I would imagine that having a mesh top would be better (so the frogs can breathe, you know?) Any ideas what kind of circular top I could get? Preferably heavy duty (I have a cat that sits on top of the tank and watches the frogs)
I have Gray Treefrogs, 2 are currently new froglets that just came out of the water and a few are still tadpoles so i'll probably have really small froglets for a few weeks

    Thank you!

Hey there! I would worry a ton about ventilation, simply because the plants will give off plenty of oxygen, and less ventilation will help a lot with humidity too. Lots of times people will make a plexiglass top with two computer fans built in, one sucks air, and one blows air, this would help keep the plants AND frogs very happy, but is not necessary. Sorry I couldn't help more, I'm still kind of a beginner, hope the tanks works out well!

Thanks! I was concerned with the amount of oxygen but I suppose it's a large enough tank to hold enough oxygen for a long time, I have to work on getting some plants though

    Thank you!

tree frogs require plenty of ventilation actually. a sealed top is fine for darts, but not tree frogs. if you have a cat that sits on top, you have a problem. the best thing you can do is drill holes in the plexi glass top. what are you planning on doing for lighting since your cat sits on top?the plants WILL need artificial lighting

Does the lighting have to be artificial? It's right by a window so the tank is about 50% sunlight 50% shade. The tank was originally used for fish and plants grew fine in the water.
I used a bit of this grip like stuff that is like a rubber mesh to cover a notch on the lid and I have a filter that I use a few days a week to keep the water clean

if you get low light plants, then you should be ok. most tropicals prefer more sunlight, but just look for shade loving plants, philodendrons, pothos, ect. lighting is the difference between having plants survive and thrive. you only filter your water a few days a week?

My filter is very powerful and whenever I turn it on, all my tadpoles are struggling in the water to swim etc, plus its hard to put the filter into the water because my lid rests on the pipe and creates a huge gap for froglets to escape. Should I filter more often?
I heard pothos have poison inside the leaves when broken, is it still good for frogs?

    Thanks

Ideally, their water should be filtered 24/7 but you gotta do what you gotta do.

And yes, pothos are toxic to animals that ingest it, but so are a majority of the plants that we use in our vivariums. Good thing they are carnivores huh? if you are worried about it, just go with silk plants
