so months ago i got some tadpols and 3 grew really fast. the rest did not. I put them in different tanks, more water, and so on. Anyhow. I have had my little frogs for months. as frogs. but i also still have tadpols. from the same litter, and my frogs are really big now, they morphed before winter. the rest did not. why did 3 zoom and rest have not? is it because of winter. of survival of fittest. or what?? i do not understand, I feed them the same. I do same things. They just wont morph. i love them as tadpols. but.. ive had some drama with them to, at 1 point some weed from the pet shop had little snails on it which i could not see which had a chew on a few tadpolsbut over all have had a good run. just i dont get why 3 grew. and the rest are just hanging out still not in any rush what so ever.
Hi Elery! Was thinking among possibilities is that, if wild caught, could have more than one frog species and they are developing at different rates. Do all tadpoles look the same?
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
they were caught in my yard after some rain where the puddle was drying up, All were the same size and looked the same but 3 grew really fast and 3 weeks or so and they were little morphs, now they are grown alot more like almost growing to adult size, and very healthy frogs eating well. The others did not grow but stayed small and have been since. im not sure why they they look the same as the other ones did the only thing thats changed is it has got colder in weather.
just read this post so i kno im late, but how are the tadpoles doing now? any changes?
