    Yeah if your Flytrap was not a fully mature plant and you let it flower then that is exactly why it has grown slowly. It still may produce larger leaves later on in the summer, but not quite as large as before.

    Another scenario is that the mature plant's Rhizome split and the mature plant died leaving the younger less mature Rhizome growing. That plant would produce less impressive sized traps.

    Edit; "E" added to Rhizome for Truff's sanity to remain intact.
