I just brought home my first ACF and I am upgrading him to a 10 gallon. I have read all the care sheets but I would like to hear from experienced owners.

I like the look of sand but I am worried about the cleaning ease, I was thinking maybe Bare bottom but wouldnt that make it hard to keep plants?

what Filters do you use? I have a whisper in tank filter but I plan to switch. Do You overfilter? By how much? Double, Triple?

Congrats on your ACF Elli! Well I don't own one but this is the kind of internal power filter I use in bigger tanks Ovation-1000-Submersible-Power . You can get smaller models of it, this one should work for a 10G giving you a bit over 2X rating: Supreme-Danner-ASP01026-Internal-Aquarium. ACF like little water movement, so would direct filter spray bar to a glass wall. Most keepers recommend bare button for cleaning ease. If natural plants are desired; could plant in pots or attach Anubia sp. and mosses to driftwood or decor. Good luck !
