here is my baby, grew quite a bit since i got her in March, almost doubled her weight but not so much in length, she is 2.5" now and started to loose her green coloration, but combination of colors right now is awesome anyway. what i love about her is that she never messes up with her tank after i clean it, she just sit nicely in her water bowl and then goes straight to her plant may be it is coming when she is older i don't yet know if that is a girl, but i just can't stop calling her she

She's gorgeous Lija! Cornuta's look so serious and thoughtful... cute !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Cornutas tend to have more jumping and kicking power with their hind legs, correct?
they should, but i never noticed, that one is a very gentle soul

I would have named this one Unicorn . Because of her one stubby horn and because the Cornuta is your Unicorn of frogs. She looks great.
I hate to say it though, but males of this species only get 2.5" to 3" SVL and females are considerably larger at nearly 5" to 5.5". You might just have a boy. This species takes much longer than some of the other species aside from Aurita to sexualy mature. 3 years for females and 1.5 to nearly 2 years for males.
We shall see .
Those guys are cool. The pet store here has three ful grown brown wild caught cornutas. All being kept together. Wrong temps. In coconut husk. Being fed mice as a staple. Tried telling the owner but he wouldn't listen.
Beautiful frog and awesome photos!
That's a beautiful critter you have in your care! I hope my Pudgey grows up as nice as your Cornuta!
"Those among us who are keepers (yes, I am one) owe each and every animal, be their cost mere pennies or thousands of dollars, the best of conditions and care. Research each species before acquisition, and then acquire only those that you can care for adequately and with relative ease." - Richard Bartlett
i call her unicorn sometimes, my younger daughter came up with the name Luna yesterday, she is way better with names then me lol may be that is what is gonna be
i don't mind it being a male, it should be around 8-9 months right now, if that is a male so i won't need to upgrade the cage yay! lol

no nuptial pads so far, but any rate, i have big fat ones, need some smaller ones for variety lol
i actually almost got brown WC cornuta a few days ago, if it is still there after we're back in 2 weeks i might get it. i promised to never get anything fat that is WC lol but i'm so sorry for the way they keep it and that is a over 5" fatty, I don't know most WC are such a pain, don;t want to make problems for a person who'll look after our zoo while we're away.
need to ask Mike actually on her age, but i think he posted it's pic in December

Are they rare in the pet industry? Never seen one.
no not really, WC are appearing once in a while, but CB are rarely being sold.

Probs just don't have many where i live. I asked them if they could get fantasy pacmans and they said they could so i presume they could get one of these in. I have my eyes on a tiny green pacman in the local pet store. So cute its only a cm long.
He/she looks great! Such a beautiful frog! (Jealous , lol!)
