    Smile My Fire Belly Tank

Hello everyone! Some time ago I got a fire bellied toad and he was living in the worst conditions because my mom is not a big fan of reptiles or amphibians living in the house but she let me buy him from pet smart and made me make him live in a little plastic kids toy from backyard safari. Then after awhile the poor frog/toad was not moving or eating and was just siting in the log part of the habitat. So I ask my mom if I could use our ten gallon tank which was not in use at the moment but was first used as a fish tank and she said no. Then after a while of asking her I finally went to my dad which he does not really care about me keeping pets and he said I could so after I talked to my dad mom finally said I could use the ten gallon but I had to buy all the equipment to make it into a frog habitat which I did buy all the supplies because recently we had a garage sale and I made a lot of money. So I got the ten gallon set up for my fire bellied toad named Fred and had it set up coconut fiber substrate, a hid, a water dish, and some plants. And here's a old pic of the tank setup like that Name: DSC02511.jpg

Then when I went to pet supplies plus to buy a more crickets I saw they had fire belly's so I decided to buy Fred a friend. But when I got home with the crickets and froggers (my newest fire belly toad) Fred was still not as active as Froggers. So I switched up the tank to be a semiaquatic setup and put gravel and a filter and some rocks from outside along with a turtle dock. Here's a pic of that setup which is my latest setup. Thank You I really Appreciate it! This is the first time I really had frogs/toads that would be with me until they die. I did have American toads but I let them go after awhile because they were from my backyard.

I had never had frogs either. You can see my tank posted here as well. I do have 4 aquariums with fish though, my hobby just expanded some to the frogs.

Yea I was the same way! I started out with tropical fish. Then I wanted to keep reptiles/amphibians but mom always said no so if I did catch a toad from my backyard I had to keep it outside in a container, which was not a good idea because I always forgot to feed them and take care of them. So just recently me and my mom went to petsmart to look at fish because we recently got a 55 gallon at a garage sale for $25. But at my petsmart they have the fire bellys in the same area as the fish. So I showed my mom and at first she was like no but after looking at the fish mom finally said I could have a fire belly as long as I used my money and took care of him. Which I did because she let me put him in my room and I remembered because I always saw him. So, that's really cool that you have 4 aquariums. How many gallons are they and are they tropical? Right now I only have the 55 gallon and a 5 gallon with a gold fish which he is getting to big so we will probably put him in our outside pond. I'll have to go see your post about your tank too.

All my aquariums are fresh water 2- 10 gallons, one 29 gallon and one 55 gallon. I got some crickets for my frogs today. I saw one of them jump at them but didn't catch it. My frogs tend to stay hidden or in the wood all day. Am thinking about getting a few more so maybe I'll actually see them once in a while.
