I am thinking about getting another frog but would like a male. Do males always have big heads or does that come as they get older. If it is when they get older how old and long must they be?
If talking about GABF, yes a big head in relationship to body, is indication of a male. For most individuals that is clearly apparent around 4-5 in. long. The only sure way to confirm it is to get a croak... or not!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
I am going to wait a while a cnd try to sex again because I jusy heard a croak and it sounded different to my pacmans croak. ItDl was longer, deeper and slower than what my pac usually makes so this one may be a male but not certain yet. Can pacmans make long deep croaks because citrus usually makes a quack like a duck and this was dreper and longer.
Mine is a female and she'll croak now and then. I think morphology is the better bet.
This is a male GABF call. http://www.frogforum.net/resources/a...ersus_call.swf
It did sound like that just slightly more high pitched. Would a 3-4 inch juvenile's call sound more high pitched?
