    Default She is a he!

    Hi everyone,
Not on the forum much any more, but wanted to share something!
My (what I thought to be female) RETF is actually a male!
I have had this frog for one year, and have never heard him chirp, ever.
Now suddenly he is chirping every night, well into the morning hours....
Has this happened to anyone else here?
Nothing has changed in his environment that would indicate to me he's now happier? He also was adult size when I brought him home, so curious why now?

Good to see you here again and congrats on your "new" boy . Maybe it just matured slower than others or is a bit shy.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

How funny! I have the Opposite....
My what I thought was a Male, is a female.
when I first brought her home, she grunted and made all kinds of sounds...turns out she was letting me know she was unhappy!
Now, I havent heard a peep in over 2 months and I was told the males have the little dark pads on the inside of the their thumbs...there isnt any on Blue but there is on my Little man.

Yeah, your big blue is definitely female. Just saw her pic in your other thread. I've heard that female white's can make noises sometimes... I think Lynn posted some youtube stuff of females making noises once. I'll have to find it.
My red eyed tree frog is a definite male. It's so funny to me that I was so sure he was a girl, but nope
