I heard a strange noise last night when I got into bed from either my bullfrog's tank or my cane toad's. I really can't describe it other than a thumping or gulping noise. The noise repeated with about a half second interval between it repeating itself and happened twice with the second burst of noises appening about 10-20 mins later. It wasn't them moving because the toad was sitting still waiting for food to wander by (plus it crawls silently) and the bullfrog was sitting in its water bowl and I would have heard splashing. It was definitely one of them making the noise. The toads a girl so it ain't her and the bullfrog is apparently a girl so it probably wasn't it practice croaking. Anybody have any ideas what it was?
I know this doesn't describe the type of sound you heard, but this thread may help you out.

I heard it last night again and it's now like a lowish chirp.
Lol funny how they do it when your trying to sleep. She was probably saying "Jack wake up and feed me now I'm hungry" I just got her a new bowl today and I think she loves it, she just wont get out. A cricket was walking past and she stalked it just like a cat until pouncing onto it which was pretty cool. Here are some update pics of her and the bowl. Do you think it will last her entire life or do you think she will out grow it? I think she will probably out grow it because she is growing fast.

My pacman frog usually quacks like a duck but tonight I heard a longer deeper and slower call which makes me wonder if it even is a female bullfrog because it certainly wasn't citrus's usual croak.
