Default Are these two the same species?

Hi guys, these 2 frogs were sold to me as ornatas but I would just like to confirm what they are. The first 2 photos are the same frog (Goji) and the last 2 are another frog (Frodo).

    Thanks in advance! :0)

One is defenately an ornata but the other may be a cranwelli, its difficult to tell when they are this young.

They are both ornata. You can tell by the false eye spots. Cranwelli lack these

Welcome to FF! Agree with Matthew, those are both C. ornata .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

Hey guys, I have a similar question. I thought my baby was a cranwelli but he ended up being an ornate.

I did a lot of research about cranwelli but is there anything different I need to know about ornates or everything is the same thing? As far as feeding, temps, behavior, looks? Thanks!

lol still waiting for the pics NialR
to OP - agree with the guys - both ornates.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!

I think all the environmental stuff is the same between ornatas and cranwelli. As for feeding, the ornates will be more inclined to eat during the day time than cranwellis.

But can they get used to eating based to your own schedule? To me it's easier to feed them after 5pm because that's around the time I get back from work.

not really, but ornates usually don't care what time of day, as long as it is food lol
cranwelli - you better feed them about 30 min after lights are off and temps down.
if you're home after 5pm that is perfect!

Lija is correct, but don't try and make a nocturnal frog diurnal. It will be disasterous for the frog.

Ornates like temps a bit cooler than cranwelli so it would be a good idea to go ahead and wait the 30 minutes.

Well that's the thing. If I can feed it at night time like I have been doing then great. I guess I can keep doing the same thing then. But since they mentioned ornates prefer eating during the day I thought I needed to stop feeding at night.

No. All Ceratophrys are nocturnal and should be fed at night. You can do it a little earlier, but not too early. Around 7 pm can be a good time.
