Default Need Help!!!! White's Tree Frog With Cut Finger - Looking Bad

My frog has a cut on his fron left finger/toe....is was small and not it has gotten bigger and is blackend.
I have sit him in spring water and feed him in it, its the only way I can get him to stay in the water. Now i have him in a little cricket keeper with a paper towel and tiny bit of water.
I have tried to put the Neosporin on it and its hard to get it on the finger.
It looks like he may lose the finger if I dont get it healed soon. It was hard to get any pics, he kept hiding it.

    Please Help!
    Any suggestions?

Black skin is dead skin. Keep trying to apply Neosporin that does not contain pain killer. Pain reliever will kill the frog. Seek a Vet. The color of your Whites looks very odd.

I agree with Grif. The finger is going to have to be removed. The frog should be fine with a missing digit but you need to find a vet. I would be concerned about the yellow splotches on it's head and back, that doesn't look normal. How'd it get the cut?

I have to agree that the finger needs to be removed. There is a product much better than Neosporin - Bactine - yep, the one for ouchies. It is very safe for all amphibians. Just swab it on the infected area with a Q-tip.

Please take him to a herp vet, there should be plenty in CA. That finger is probably causing him alot of pain.

Yes, this website is the best! Glad you made an appointment for your little guy, does he have a name? The actual color of the frog body seems okay. One of my frogs gets a real light green/yellow color every now and then it depends on his background. The spots are what caught my eye, they aren't round. From what I've noticed on other frogs that have spots the spots are roundish. Your spots look like they have irregular borders, kind of splotchy. Won't hurt to have that looked at.

Keep us updated, hope everything goes well!

Hello! I agree with all of the above. Finger does not look good, may need to be amputated?
Anti-bacterial medication until you see the vet, tomorrow? Stay away from betadine- but non-pain reliever neosporin or bactine are good options.
Keep the frog in a *super* *duper* clean hospital tank, moist paper towel substrate, hide/climbing structure, water bowl - must be environmentally maintained (warm and humid).

As far the spots and color, they actually look okay to me. The spots on the head look like my white's 'freckles.' Curious as to when you purchased your frog?

Did you go to the vet? How is the little guy's finger? And did you get the spots checked out?

The finger came off a day after the vet, she said that it would and if the infection looks like its gonna spread, she'd have to amputate it down to the lower knuckle.
She is not feeling good right now, she has a bacterial spread going on. I dont think she was getting enough of the meds she gave me. I was afraid to force her mouth open so i put the drops on the backs of the crickets. Wasnt working so well. so now, I have a new batch of meds and I have learned to get her mouth open and drop it right in. So, now I Know she is getting the proper amount. I just hope I'm not too late in the process.
She has black spots on her tummy, its spreading from her laying on her one foot and the papertowels drying up while i'm away at work during the day. I took the papertowels out and am sticking to a small amount of fresh clean water twice a day. Last night she didnt eat anything. I gave her the meds first. Next time I'll give her a cricket or two then give her the meds.

I really hope I am not too late and I can save her!
I bought her at a Reptile show, I feel even worse cause my daughter bought her for me for my Bday. I've had her since Jan 6.

I am very SAD to say that Rocco didnt make it.
She left me during the night. I found my poor Baby this morning with no more life left in her.

Thank you all for all your advice.
I'll keep it in mind for the other two, (Who are Healthy!)
