Why can't wild caught Gray and Green Treefrogs be kept together? Their habitat ranges overlap, correct? Just wondering, thanks.

You probably could get away with it just fine if you collected them yourself from the same habitat. I have found them sitting side by side under patio umbrellas and window shutters in my area and they aren't aggressive or toxic to one another. The reason species mixing is usually discouraged isn't because it is impossible to make it work, it is generally discouraged because it is easy to mess things up if you don't know exactly what your doing. As such it is usually one of those things that if you have to ask instead of knowing if it would be ok or not you should probably get more experience before trying it.
Thanks, just curious.
Another issue with keeping different species together, even if they aren't toxic to each and come from the same area, is that you are putting them in a lot closer contact with each other this way, without them deciding it. So even if they aren't aggressive to each other out there, it could change once they have to share a small terrarium. I like the person who sits in the cubicle next to me, but I probably wouldn't like her as much if she had to share my cubicle all the time.![]()
You're welcome - glad to help.![]()
