Hi everyone. I'm Jordan and want to get started into the terrarium/vivarium world! I've done some research, read through some build logs, and have come up with my own idea.Im a junior in college so i'm kind of strapped or cash so I'm trying to be as resourceful as possible in my build. So here is what I've come up with:
An old acoustic guitar! This was my first acoustic and has been sitting behind my couch for over 2 years now. It was missing strings, covered in stickers, etc. So I went and cut it up like this so far and was planning to build my vivarium out of this.
My problem is the size. It is approximately 20 inches tall and 16 inches wide at its widest point. It is only 6 inches deep so i planned on extending the walls with either wood or a clear plastic to about 12 to 16 inches. Will this be big enough for a vivarium for maybe a frog or anole? Will the shape have any effect on the animals?
My other concern is the bracing that was built into the guitar is all glued on. I dont want the glue to harm the animals obviously so will putting the black silicone over it be good or should i remove the glue altogether?
That's it so far! Once i can get these questions answered i can either move forward or start over![]()
