I have a new baby frog in my collection I found yesterday while herping. It is very small, dark green, stripes on the legs, lightly spotted with tiny black spots raised white ridges down the sides, and a milky white belly and throat. The eyes are bronze. It was hiding under a rock in a shallow rocky streambed. It looks to me like a baby rana catesbeiana or rana clamitans. I would think that baby bull frogs would be much bigger as this little guy (or gal) is tiny, about an inch. I know it is not a lithobates sphenocephalus/palustris or any kind of tree frog. Whatever it is, he or she has newly metamorphosed. It still has a stub of tail. It has eaten a pinhead cricket and is not overly skittish. I am in southern Indiana if that helps to ID this baby. Thanks for any help.
1 Acrantophis dumerili
1 Lithobates palustris
The raised ridges down the sides rule out bullfrog. That they are white makes a Rana clamitans seem unlikely and I'd be inclined to think it's one of your leopard frogs or a pickerel. A photo would help.
You really don't have many options for Ranids:
