    Default cricket question

Ok I just got my first frog, a green tree frog I caught. I dont live near any pet stores that sells crickets. are the bait crickets at Wal-Mart and bait shops the same?

I have a small cricket keeper (the thing with 2 black tubes in it)
also have flukers high calcium cricket diet and cricket quencher

I like the cricket keeper cause the tubes make it easy to put them in my frogs tank.

I thought about ordering in bulk but I don't know what I would keep the crickets in or where I would store them
and how to keep them alive. My wife doesn't want a bunch of crickets chirping in the house so I would have to keep them in my shed and it isn't climate controlled so I don't think that will work

also willow flies just hatched (mayflies) I work on the river and I was wondering if my frog would like to eat them?

also if I order crickets what size should I get?

I keep my crickets in just a 20 gallon breeder tank with a metal top on it. I use cricket quencher and cricket meal and whatever veggies I have left over from my bearded dragon. I also use toilet paper tubes, it gives the crickets a place to hide and also helps with getting the crickets out of the tank. For 9 months I've been ordering in bulk and get 5/8 inch or 3/4 inch and only one time did I get crickets that chirped and it wasn't as annoying as I thought it would be. It was actually fun because I tried to breed them, but that didn't work out. I keep mine in the basement. It's an unfinished basement and it probably stays about 68 degrees.

The last time I bought crickets I got 1000 5/8" and I keep them pretty well fed and they've lasted 3 weeks. I have 3 whites tree frogs that are a year old and they eat 4 to 6 crickets each, every other night or so. I also have a bearded dragon that was eating up to 40 crickets a day so I needed a lot of crickets.

However, I just bought 2 baby whites tree frogs and I bought 500 1/4" crickets to feed them and they don't seem to ship well or last long.
