can you feed fire belly toads something other than crickets. I've heard about some people feeding them worms and stuff but would like to know what exactly I can feed them and what would be best to feed them.
Mine are currently being fed crickets, fly larvae, grasshoppers, earthworms, small minnows and the occasional guppy....
I used crickets as the main food and occasionally gave them waxworms and mealworms.
a varity is always good. crickets, silk worms, small earth worms or blood worms, minos, isopods, roaches (appropriatly sized).
avoid meal worms and super worms they can cause impaction and thier nutrional value is poor. Isopods are an excellent size for them and they arent to fast either. I also use small dubia roaches. they are almost perfect for this type of frog.
I used to feed mine B. dubia and B. lateralis nymphs.
Crickets were always expensive, smelly, and an all around pain for me to deal with.
