One of my male Ornates uses his vocal sack as a pillow. Pretty funny!

A large round throat does not mean male though. Unless you have been hearing your frog call and the throat is baggy and bruised then it is male, but Females can have a large throat. You can tell the difference between a vocal sack and a large female throat though so keep an eye on the frog for verification.

I don't think I've heard him call yet. If I have I probably slept through it. Ocassionally I hear random squeaking/chriping like at 4am. But it always sounded like it was coming out of the window and not his cage. Could that be him?

Maybe once a week to soak him. I always use a styrofoam cup to handle him. Never actually pickh im up.

I only go into the room to sleep and feed him.

Daily water changes. I'm doing a soil change today.

If pacman frogs can get a nuptial pad on only one toe at first then I'm pretty sure he's a boy at this point. It also might explain his distended throat and the chirping at night! Looks like I was just being paranoid as usual.

Here he is sitting in a plastic tub before being put back in his cleaned out cage. He actually jumped out of the critter keeper he was soaking in even though the walls are about 6.5" high. He's got hops. He's a little more brown than usual in this pic. Probably because he was freaking out over being outside a container in the open. Colored right back to his normal frog green when he went back into his cage.
