I'm going to rely on you folks to tell me what he is. Spotted him hopping in front of lawn mower so I stopped and ran inside to wash my hands and grab the camera. Put him on window sill for safe keeping while I finished that section, and planned to put him in a tree when I was done but when I came back, he was gone.
Unless he followed me, I don't think I mowed him over. But I've sprayed pesticides where he was hanging out, which is why I wanted to place him in a tree.

It's a Gray Treefrog. There are two visually identical species, but you seem to only have Hyla versicolor in Massachusetts. One of our most charming native amphibians.
Thank you for moving the little fella. Nice photos as well. He's adorable.

He was crazy cute, and sooo teeny. Glad I was wearing my glasses, very easy to miss. We just had a whole day of rain, might be why he was out.
Sort of wish I knew where he was now, but maybe one day I'll throw open the upstairs blinds and he'll be all grown up, clinging there.
