Philippe de Vosjoli is a pioneer in herpeculture and the author of many books and articles. He is the founder on the now defunct magazine The Vivarium. A good chunk of what we know about keeping reptiles and amphibians comes from his work.

William E. Duellman Ph.D is the Curator Emeritus at the Natural History Museum & Biodiversity Research Center, Division of Herpetology of the University of Kansas. His primary research is of frogs of the Neo tropics, especially those belonging to the families Centrolenidae, Dendrobatidae, Hemiphractidae, Hylidae, and Leptodactylidae. He has many species named in his honor, like Dendrobates duellmani. (see the Meet the Frog article on the red-eyed stream frog for another example)
