Size: 102.9 KB she had some dirt on her chin so i thought at 1st might be a boy.. hence all the chin shots. she's already eaten an earthworm and some reptivited mealworms. briefly met Banjo, wish i could just put them together, but she's in banjo's old tank next to banjo's current tank. MUCH lighter and brighter than Banjo, which has me worried for my girl, but could be heat of the ride and stress... Banjo looks like a very dark brown compared to Ukulele. More reason to keep them apart I guess.

I can't remember if banjo is male or female. But if banjo is female, darker coloration could be a sign that she is gravid with eggs if I'm not mistaken.

Banjo is a girl, but I think she's only a year old or so, judging by how much she's grown in length since the end of sept. They're both about the same size (3in). And Ukulele is at least 3yrs old, likely older. It was a very hot long car ride into the city to get her and bring her back tho we had the AC on. I know that Banjo brightens when she's warm, or stressed. They're both in a room with AC now, so the color should even out, tho Uki's dirt is new and expanded with warm water so she may stay brighter longer.
Cannot wait to put them together.

*getting ahead of myself here. i got her with the intention of re-homing to a girl who expressed an interest in Banjo. if that doesn't work out tho, well... you know. i don't think i'll be heartbroken. the guy was really nice and obviously cared for his toad, but just couldn't keep her. no one came to rescue my baby bat, but i was able to go rescue a toad in need. somehow this evens things out in my head.

I just realized I have no idea how old Ukulele is. He said he's had her for over 3 years, and she's shed many times, but never mentioned whether she'd grown. I'll have to ask. He found her hopping through a friend's yard in NH. She's really sweet about being handled, but he thought she was a boy all this time.

Everyone is getting new toads! I had an empty ten gallon from my Leopard Frog for a while now and I was just about to get a male American Toad for my Female!

That time of year, maybe. Guy says he's had her for about 3.5yrs, found her in the Fall at night (just like how i found Banjo), but she grew maybe only 1/4in. So I'm going to guess her age to be about 4.5 to 5yrs.

I put them together yesterday so they could share a bowl of earthworms. Almost had a Lady and the Tramp spaghetti scene. She has a good appetite, but Banjo beat her to it. Name: DSC00213.jpg

Size: 120.4 KB You can see her eye peeking out from under plant. They're both in big tank on opposite ends now. The twin of that plant is over in the other corner, so Banjo has her burrow back.

Size: 145.4 KB she's really excited to be here.

Took 10 tries to get this shot; they'd just split a calcium dipped worm. She popped right out of burrow when plate was placed in tank, but her half wasn't moving as much so i wiggled it from tongs in her face.

I don't think it's obvious in any of the pics, but she's missing a large portion of the little finger on her right hand. Looks healed and fine and doesn't bother her, so it just makes her extra awesome.

Well since she is going to be treated as a queen I don't think she needs that digit anyway. It's not like she has to chase down her food.

True! She gets around fine, and from the way they stand/sit, it seems like they use their inner fingers for balance anyway. She has all the fingers needed for stuffing food into her mouth.

Found a very nice poo last night, but can't be certain who it was and no one's talking.
