I can't remember if banjo is male or female. But if banjo is female, darker coloration could be a sign that she is gravid with eggs if I'm not mistaken.

Banjo is a girl, but I think she's only a year old or so, judging by how much she's grown in length since the end of sept. They're both about the same size (3in). And Ukulele is at least 3yrs old, likely older. It was a very hot long car ride into the city to get her and bring her back tho we had the AC on. I know that Banjo brightens when she's warm, or stressed. They're both in a room with AC now, so the color should even out, tho Uki's dirt is new and expanded with warm water so she may stay brighter longer.
Cannot wait to put them together.

*getting ahead of myself here. i got her with the intention of re-homing to a girl who expressed an interest in Banjo. if that doesn't work out tho, well... you know. i don't think i'll be heartbroken. the guy was really nice and obviously cared for his toad, but just couldn't keep her. no one came to rescue my baby bat, but i was able to go rescue a toad in need. somehow this evens things out in my head.

I just realized I have no idea how old Ukulele is. He said he's had her for over 3 years, and she's shed many times, but never mentioned whether she'd grown. I'll have to ask. He found her hopping through a friend's yard in NH. She's really sweet about being handled, but he thought she was a boy all this time.
