As many of you know from my website, I have been trying to re-introduce Pacific Chorus Frogs to this area as they have sufferred a drastic decline. Over the last 3 years I have been captive breeding them and releasing the tadpoles in several areas that I created on my property. It is illegal to release frogs but legal to release tadpoles. This spring while in my observation tower I counted way more adults calling than in years past so I made the decision not to release tadpoles this year and see what happens. I went down to the lower pool today and there are hundreds of tadpoles less than a week old! They are breeding on their own! I am so excited. Here are some pics of the stream, release pool, and observation stand. My girlfreind hates my observation stand because I spend every evening in it counting frogs, LOL.I will post pics when they get older and bigger so you can see them. HURRAY!!!!!
