    Eruciform larvae in general can often be ambiguous; except Lepidopterans. I think this is a fly larva of some kind, but I don't claim to be an expert on Dipteran taxa... There are are some 200,000 species of fly and something like 400,000 species of beetle (and likely an equal number of hymenopterans). Might be difficult to tell exactly what larva this is =)

    Either way, I'd say its harmless. Probably wouldn't feed it off not knowing exactly where its been or where it came from, but its not a problem being in the box.

    thanks for the replies,its nice to know what it is in general,i wasn't going to risk feeding it off,better to be safe than sorry
