I have some 6mm clear acrylic lying around , i was wondering if it will be a suitable martial for a terrarium , The tank i plan to make is 60 gallon terrarium.
My only worry is that the acrylic might melt from the Bulb or UTH.Does anyone know if acrylic will be okay. Thanks.
I have acrylic tanks and as long as you keep the light a short distance away from the acrylic it will be ok. They also make lower wattage Uth that can be used with acrylic.
the real issue will be with strength. 6mm is just under 1/4". which should be plenty strong for a smaller tank, but 60 is a rather large one. as long as you don't plan on having much water in it, you should be ok.

I only plan to have a tiny shallow pond at the bottom of the tank , the dimensions are 90x60x45 , btw i think acrylic stronger then glass up to 17 times , although i could be wrong.
I don't have plans for lights due to the fact that frogs are nocturnal so they don't need it , instead i plan to have UTH with a thermostat , will that be okay?
