Hi guys, complete beginner here.
So light cycles; here's the thing, my pacman's tank is sitting in my bedroom and gets about say, 10 hours of real, indirect sunlight from my bedroom windows.
At night however, it's a different story: the room uses fluorescent lights and I do have to keep one of them on to get stuff done around the room.
I wanna know, is there any adverse affects to my frog when I keep the lights on at night for a few hours? He does get about 6-7 hours of darkness a night
Well, I'm not sure if the artificial light will affect the frog. You could always cover the enclosure with a dark piece of clothes to provide darkness, while you go on with doing your stuff.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Yeah, thought of using a black towel for that. Might switch to using a standing table lamp also.
I have a Crested Gecko in my bedroom, and the light doesn't bother him. I do make sure that he gets darkness, though. Like what was said above, I would recommend you put something over the cage.
as i understand it, unless it is direct light to simulate daylight over the tank, the frogs shouldn't really be affected by it. I have kept my white's and mentellas in a room where there was overhead florescent lighting well after their lights out time and never saw any ill effects.
