    Default ACF Tadpoles Disappearing

Sorry, I know I've been posting a lot of questions here...

I have some ACF tadpoles that are disappearing. I had probably 50-100, and now it looks like it's under 20.

I have two questions. First, are these cannibalistic? I know this is a problem with pacman tadpoles...
Two, I used methylene blue to prevent fungus on the eggs, but I may have added a bit too much. Could this cause the tadpoles to die off?

These are the only things I could think of. Water parameters are fine.

That is strange. These are fairly obvious things, but do you have a filter in there that could be sucking them up? Or could you have accidentally siphoned some up during water changes without realising? I'm no expert but I can't see them cannibalising since they filter feed tiny particles from the water.
I don't know anything about methylene blue but I wouldn't have added any kind of chemicals (if that's what it is? I have no idea). I would have thought that the fungus would be a good thing because it helps you to easily identify which eggs are unhealthy/unfertilised and need removing.

Yeah I don't have a filter, so that's not the problem.

In the future, I don't think I would use methylene blue and I think I would try to do more water changes and maybe have a weak filter. It seems like they are pretty sensitive to poor water quality...

Also, I've read that they need spring/RO water. Is this true?

Are there any acf tadpole remains in your tank?

That's what's weird. I don't see any, but maybe they just decomposed really quickly...

I highly recommend a air powered sponge filter.

Oh, is methylene blue just a water conditioner to make tap water safe? If it is, forget what I said - conditioned tap water is fine. I assumed it was some other kind of chemical treatment because you said it was to prevent fungus forming on the eggs.

No, you're right. Methylene blue is a treatment. I don't really know much about the effects of overdosing it...also, I was thinking that since these tadpoles are filter feeders, they may have ingested some of this...

Gemma, have you ever had a mass die-off of ACF tads?

No, but I've only bred mine once. How are the remaining tadpoles doing?
