So if I got rid of the gravel what type of substrate should I use? Other than moss I mean.

actually im in the middle of building a 20gal for my 3 FBTs. i was going to use coco fiber as a substrate and then cover it with sheet moss for the land section
I might do a PAC man set up! Well if mom and dad are good with it. Those little guys seem so cool, with such awesome attitudes. I think a 29 gallon would be a nice "pad" for one of them. They get big and are solo dudes which means ill probably bond very hard with him.I hope this all works! I want one of these happy little dudes
i would have to say that 29 gallons for pacmans are a little overkill, 5 or 10 gallons is good for one pacman

First off, a 29 Gallon is way too big for even an adult pacman frog. 20 gallons are the very biggest tank they can go in comfortably. Any bigger and they will become very stressed out, which can lower it's immune system and/or cause sickness in the process.
For a young Pacman frog, a 5 gallon is suitable. As an adult, a 10 gallon is pushing it in terms of size. Honestly, a 15 gallon is the best option for an adult.
As for substrate, I find Coconut Fiber is the best. It's natural, completely safe, perfect for burrowing, and pleasant to the eye. You'll typically find it being sold in bricks known as "Plantation Soil" in a pet store. Simply place the brick in a large bucket, add 3 liters of dechlorinated water, wait for 30-45 minutes and stir it around occasionally until it is ready. As for maintenance of the substrate, simply replace it monthly and you'll be good!

Would you recommend any other solo frogs for a 29. I completely trust you guys on sizing. In my mind bigger is always better because I've always delt with reptiles or fish or rodents, things that have minimums not maximums. Although I do still like the idea of fire bellies. I'm just researching and keeping an open mind and more researching before I commit. I hate not knowing how to react to potential situations.
