FBT 29 gal setup?

Hey guys. Alright so I'm new to all of this. I have a 29 gallon tank that isn't thriving for my fish. So I'm thinking of turning it into a toad setup. However I'm unsure on how to do this. I have gravel already so could I just slope it to do a 50/50 setup? And then add like moss and what not? I don't plan on doing much right now, except doing a deep clean and scrubbing it.

First thing to do is read this excellent care article: Frog Forum - Fire-Bellied Toad Care and Breeding - Bombina orientalis and relatives . There you will learn among other things that gravel is an impaction risk and under some conditions, so is moss .

So far so good, thirty gallons would be perfect for up to nine toads. I would add moss on top of the gravel so theres no impaction risk. Make sure when using moss is to ring it out good before putting it in the terrarium with a water section. you can make a cork divider or plexiglass divider for the toads as well, i personally would use live plants but its totally up to you!

So if I got rid of the gravel what type of substrate should I use? Other than moss I mean.

actually im in the middle of building a 20gal for my 3 FBTs. i was going to use coco fiber as a substrate and then cover it with sheet moss for the land section

I might do a PAC man set up! Well if mom and dad are good with it. Those little guys seem so cool, with such awesome attitudes. I think a 29 gallon would be a nice "pad" for one of them. They get big and are solo dudes which means ill probably bond very hard with him. I hope this all works! I want one of these happy little dudes

i would have to say that 29 gallons for pacmans are a little overkill, 5 or 10 gallons is good for one pacman

Maybe a pixie frog? Bit bigger than a pac, bigger appetite. Would probably want to start it in something smaller and then move it to the bigger tank after a while. You could then even set the tank up to be half land half water b/c they are much better swimmers than pacs

a solo frog that could work for a while is a smoky jungle frog, very unique frogs
