My Repti Fogger's fan was starting to make strange noises that were getting on my nerves, so I went to Walgreens and Home Depot to make my own. It's ugly as sin and certainly not the most perfectly constructed thing I've ever made, but it seems to fulfill the job it was drafted into - keeping my Pyxie's exo terra long between 70 and 80% (according to my hygrotherm's humidity gauge). It produces a buttload more of fog than that cheap, overpriced ReptiFogger did, which brings me to my one concern. The extra fog will not bother my frog, will it?
It doesn't seem to, and there is plenty of ventilation in place. No restricted screens, and this being an exo terra there's vents below the doors, and the doors themselves have gaps in between them and beside them (you know, where they open; how they're designed). With there being so much fog yet also a goodly amount of ventilation should I be OK now? Here are some pictures of the unit itself (the ultrasonic, cool mist one) and the amount of fog that ensues when the hygrotherm switches it on.
