Fungus on wood

You most definitely have an advantage to wait this out if there are no frogs in the tank yet.
It's coming along very nicely Don't ya just love moss ?

I doubt it will be a problem.
It goes through a bunch of 'phases'. Just keep an eye on it.

What kind of wood is it.
May I ask - how did you prepare the wood?

Hy Lynn! I'm good, it's been a while but I'm back! How are you?
Unfortunately its not been so well on the froggy front. Do you remeber my two whites Kevin and Eddie? Kevin unfortunately escaped his enclosure while I was away and died Is all well with you? I see you've added quite a few frogs to your collection.

I decided about five minutes after I posted this ( I had a little freak out that it will "infect everything") to take it out of the tank, I put a new peice of wood in and hopefully it wont come alive with fungus like the old one! I think the new piece of wood looks better anyway. Its just a shame as the moss was starting to root in to the old wood.
I'll keep an eye on the old wood though, see if it still continues to grow.

Honestly I have no idea. A friend gave it to me because they weren't using it. I boiled it twice

Hi Kristen! If you store your fungi covered piece of wood in a humid location, the fungi will consume the organic matter feeding them. Having done their job, the fungi will die down and you can re-use wood in same or other project.

If your new wood is unseasoned and still has organic matter in it; guess what? Yep, it will get the white or other fungi too. Since you boiled the wood; the spores probably came with the plants or moss. Good thing is, although not aesthetic to your eyes, it won't harm the frogs !

Most tanks will mold over. It's a normal turn of events in a new vivarium. If you maintain a good microfauna population, they will feeds the mold that forms. I anticipate that as long as you keep adding new wood, they too will mold over. Let it take its course and it should go away.

you can also get springtails to keep your mold and fungus under control
