My wife and I have an ornate pacman and we have been feeding him earthworms mostly because he seems to like them more so then crickets. Today I picked up some canned shrimp by zoo med because it said it would make a good treat for amphibians and after reading a few things about shrimp would you think it's safe to feed him one? I don't want to cause him to get impacted, but the can says it's safe for frogs.![]()
I would not offer shrimp to any frogs because they are not part of their natural diet. Also, as you stated, if shrimps are large they could cause impaction or some of their sharp pointy exoskeleton could hurt the frogs digestive system.
If you want a nice treat, get your Pacman a couple nice fat Dubias or other roaches that are around the distance between frog's eyes in length. Dusted night crawlers are a great staple diet. I alternate my Pacman's diet with Dubias and it's growing fast.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I'll feed it to my scorpions lol.
