    Default Wacky Thermo-hygro readings

Hi everyone! My visits to this forum have been few and far between lately. Summertime = Busy time!

Anyways, I just had to make time to post this question. I have been having some weird readings from my Exo-Terra thermo-hygro combo. For a while I was questioning my humidity readings because it would stay at a steady 64% all the time no matter how often I misted. I just kept misting regularly and gauging humidity based on both the hygro reading and the look of the substrate. All was fine and dandy with that until the thermometer portion started reading anywhere from 40 degrees (Fahrenheit) to 1 degree. Now, I KNOW that's not accurate. I changed the batteries and got the same readings. And the weird thing is, the humidity readings seem to be accurate now. I have a glass fish tank thermometer in the tank now since it's summer and I don't want to cook anyone but I would like to get this working properly or figure out if I should buy a new one. Any ideas??

And eventually I'll get around to my new viv build. The current one is starting to look pretty disheveled. The pothos that I have in there has taken the entire thing over. Should be fun pulling that out when the time comes....

I would stop using it and contact the manufacturer; specially if still under warranty. If something is wrong with it, the heating elements connected to it could kill your frogs . Humidity sensors do provide false readings if sprayed on or wet; but once dry they start reading correctly again. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

Oh no it isn't a thermostat. It's just thermometer+hygrometer combo. It isn't under warranty anymore either. I've been successfully regulating the temps with a regular thermometer that I used to have in my fish tank but I woukd like to have my digital readings back. I would love to fix this one but if I need to I can buy another one. Maybe if I took it out and dried the probe out completely?
