Default Fuzzy Mice - How Often?

I've had my frog for about 4 months now (got him as a baby) and gave him his first fuzzy last night.

How often can he have these? I know they aren't good as a staple, but this one was considerably smaller than the frog, so can it be a more frequent treat? Is the fur an issue with digestion? If so, should I try to find pinky rats?

Also, at what point can I accurately determine gender? My wife and I are at odds with the name, but can't really decide until we know if it's a boy or a girl...

    Thanks for any info!

Rodents no more than once per month and no more. They are not a necessary food so you don't have to give the frog mice at all.

You'll need to post some pictures of your frog. Top, side profile pics and a pic of the frog's head facing everyone. Should be able to give a good guess of the frog's gender at 4", but some take a bit longer to determine.

agree with Grif, but just to add, even if s/he is too young to tell sex, we would love to see a pic of your frog and welcome to the FF

Here are some pics. I couldn't find a ruler, so I included one with a deck of cards for size reference.

If anyone has a good guess at the gender, I'd appreciate it.

Now that he/she's been relocated for the photo shoot, I'll take the opportunity for a full tank clean.

    Thanks again!

I didn't know that, how can you tell?

It wasn't sold to me as a dwarf, but I don't mind too much... it's still a fun pet.

And if that's the case then I'll just need to find myself a full size one too!

    how can you tell?
big yellow middle line and a bit different coloration of a frog itself, yellow throat that we don't see in the pics still too young to sex yet, but at this point it looks male'ish to me.

And if that's the case then I'll just need to find myself a full size one too!
haha now you're talking! congratulations! you're on frog addiction stage 2

Fortunately I have one more empty shelf in my atrium and an understanding spouse.

Though she wasn't too happy with the fate of that baby mouse. She would have much rather kept it as a pet, and it definitely didn't help that I had her hold the camera.

When I'm ready for the giant, where should I get it to be sure it is, in fact, a giant and what age should it be for the best chance at it being a male?

I see that backwater reptiles sells them with the specific Latin name at 3 different sizes (hatchling, 3in, 5+ in). I've ordered feeders only from them, but have had positive experiences.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    -Ian

This happens a lot. I assumed you knew it was a Dwarf so I didn't say, but since it is a Dwarf then Ill say female. Just a guess not a exact determination.

lol Grif, let's see who is right this time that is given that that particular frog is very young yet to sex

Ian, ha, you know sometimes when you let your spouse to have what she/he wants then it is easier for you to get what u want careful when u want to get something specific we saw here so many times that people are getting not what they ordered, so when u are ready ask for pics of actual frog u're getting and if in question post here to confirm.
