Default Help with African Dwarf Frog

Recently, my first african dwarf frog died. I soon got a new one. I noticed with the other ADF that he was very skinny. The new one is very plump. I believe he died of starvation. I think this was because I fed him with all the other fish in the tank which included goldfish which would eat his food. I had been giving him pellets. Should I feed the new frog in a different place? Like in w bowl or something? I don't want the same thing to happen. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Epus! The dwarf frog that passed away died most likely of stress from the goldfish. i dont reccomend housing the two together because goldies can get over one foot in length and produce a LOT of ammonia in the water. Fish you CAN house with ADFs are guppies, platies and female fighting fish, i dont use any fish with my dwarfies. If you have your fish eating all the food before the frog can get to it, try feeding the frog in a small fish nursery box, this way no fish can get to the frog or its food, and if you cant do that, feed the fish on one side of the tank and the frog on the other.

Do you think that I could put a small separator in between a small section of the tank, for the frog and leave the rest of the fish on the remaining side? I don't want to house my frog separately because there is really not much room, and it would be more work.

Would I have to use a certain type of material? Because I know certain things put chemicals into the water when left in there.

    Acrylic is best for seperators.
