For heat I'm using a Zoo Med Halogen Lamp. Not sure which wattage.. I didn't check...

I was going to buy the heat pad, but some of the reptile store's employees told me it's not too safe to put it at the bottom of the tank because when it contacts the water it can crack the glass... so I'm not sure where to put that.

The temperature isn't a big problem for me because I live in Southern California and it's summer time right now so temperatures are NEARLY what he needs but I keep the lamp on in the day time if its not 80 degrees in his tank.
The humidity is the only problem I'm facing... Could it be from the POS Green Moss that I bought that's not holding the humidity? I know Spahgnum Moss and Coconut Fiber holds humidity very well.

What's your take on that?
