I've got a filter and used media from a fish tank with a whitespot outbreak. It's a shame because the media is full of good bacteria which would be great if it weren't for the whitespot. Can ACF get infected by whitespot? What do I have to do to make the filter safe for them? Will I need to buy new media, or is there any way of cleaning the media to get rid of all traces of whitespot? I know that will also get rid of the good bacteria, but I don't live near anywhere that sells filter media so it would save me having to wait for delivery.
Thanks.
Ick is a fish protozoan parasite and can't infect frogs. Filter media is fine for frogs and if no fish are in tank, eventually parasite will die off due to lack of host.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
I was hoping that would be the case. Thanks, Carlos!
