Frog seems to have lost a finger!

Does it look like a recent wound? I would be weary of infection setting in. Also is there any decoration in the tank that could have caused this, any tank mates besides the other frog?

The frog can live perfectly fine without the finger, in rare instances it may even grow back but I wouldn't count on that happening though.

Are those blue channel catfish still in there? If so, I would point the blame to that species for sure..

The cats are out along with all the other fish. I was thinking same thing =(

It's worth noting that Xenopus skin contains an antibiotic, which makes them resilient to many bacterial and fungal infections and which might also play a part in making them undesirable hosts for some parasites. For more detailed information check out: Magainin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Don't worry about it this stuff happens, the finger should regenerate (not as big as before though), a mudskipper stole a toe from my AFF and it ended up regenerating the digit to half the original size (took 3 months though).
