Hey all,

Some of you know me from the tree frog section (im there daily) but I got my first dart frogs today so now I have 2 sections to talk and lurk =P.

imitators =) so coool little guys....

Im normally into all tree frogs...but i had to many 10 gallons laying around my house not being used so i tried something new =)
SO im new to this...the guy who i traded with was generous enough to spare a fruit fly culture and some spring tails and some ABG mix and mongolia leaves =)
Along with my 2 new little guys. I traded for 12 red eye tree frog tadpoles. I gave him a full morph phase guarantee. SO as long as they are tadpoles i will replace if they die. (2 -3 month warrenty)

Im all about proper care of frogs... so any advice is always helpful =)
Its nice to get these because I never see this species at my local pet store. =)
One is 3 months. One is 6 months =) oh and if you guys were wondering i do have a glass top.

The only thing I would add is a aquarium background to help with stress.
and hope to prevent rub nose.

I just remembered that you said the the top is 100% glass,
How are you taking care of ventilation.

With 100% glass you might have too high humidity.
Just a thought.
I don't know what your "imitators" need but some one else here might.

Since I leave a few crickets in my packman enclosure for him to snack on.

I removed the internal back ground since the crickets were climbing it and escaping.
And my wife can't stand to find a cricket loose.
even though one of my cats catch them 99% of the time.

Congratulations Corey. Welcome to the dart side. Imitators are a great dart. They're definitely little characters. As far as humidity 80-100 % is right so the higher the better. High humidity good high temps not good.

the tree fern looks great. You need a couple of neoregelias for them. They provide good sleeping spots, hideaways and egg laying sites. For additional egg laying sites add film canisters. Best of luck with them Corey.

HA! You should see my house... with the 200 frogs i have...LOTS OF LOOSE CRICKETS!! I HATE IT!! ughhh...freaks out my guests =/ Most of the time its just me transfering them into the tank... I dont get that many exapies.

You can plant just about any creeping vine you'd like. Darts don't require much ventilation. No need to drill. The simple act of opening and feeding them every day or every other is all the ventilation they need. Some people ventilate the tank to keep it clear of condensation. Usually a one to two inch strip of screen along the top front length of glass is sufficient. humidity escapes so you'll need to mist a bit more frequently if you ventilate. Also mist more heavily and feed daily to stimulate breeding. Usually twice daily misting. You don't need to soak everything when you mist. Just give everything a light light spray. I'm sure you know but sopping wet substrate leads to soil rot and root rot.

The brom and pup are perfect. Ne herp sells the film cans cheap. No rush on those but they make breeding easy.

I love NE Herp!!! I will MOST DEF give Mike some more business now. When do these guys become sexually Mature? I have one at three months and one at 6 months? How many of those film containers would be good for the 10 gallon i have? I may remove the bamboo stalk.
