Default 4 spot green apple or green apple (lipstick)

I saw some 4spot green apple and some green apple "lipstick" morphs at underground reptiles. My question is: are these just a morph? or are they a hybrid? I have heard both arguments before,,,Im just wondering which is correct. Any help in the matter would be great.

The REAL Green Apple Pacman is a hybrid between Ceratophrys cranwelli and C. joazeirensis. The Lipstick Pacman is supposed to be a special C. cranwelli morph.

As most will tell you I would stay away from getting a hybrid

Chino yours looks like an actual 4 spot Green Apple not the Lipstick. They do look similar, but overall skeletal structure and build will be different.

Could be wrong; but if you mean Ghengis Khan, agree with Colleen/Jerrod too. GK does look like GA hybrid !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

i feel like GK is not a hybrid, based on the fact that he really looks like a cranwelli jr. flat and round like a typical cranwelli. only time will tell?

The Skull shape of the Lipstick is not the same as the Green Apple Pacman. You can see the difference in these three pictures. Even body structure is slightly different. Key example is the hips. Notice how the hips are protruding up in the Green Apples even though they appear healthy and fat. This is due to the two individual species' bone structures combining into one frog.

GK head structure does not look like typical C. cranwelli. Furthermore, if you remember your comments here (http://www.frogforum.net/pacman-frog...tml#post178877), GK does not behave like the typical C. cranwelli. If got a true Green Apple with little to no bone deformities, should consider yourself lucky, because that might indicate better survival rates to adulthood.

IMO most hybrids F1's are very unstable. There are variations among the hybrids that survive within a brood and also between 1st and subsequent same parent broods. Lethal or malignant gene combinations can be recessive or a mix bag, so you never know what you will get.

Maybe you could find a local shop or owner with a Lipstick Pacman and compare it's head bone structure to yours side to side and let us know. Also, the for sale pic of GA from UGReptiles, does look like a true GA. Think GK is a nice frog no matter what !

AH hah, I was wondering how to tell the difference, now that it is stated it seems so blatant. Thanks for clarification.
