Wondering if frogs can be tamed is really us keepers looking for a return of affection. Unfortunately we will not get that. We love our pets and look for any glimpse of affection in return, that is perfectly understandable. Amphibians should be loved from a distance, other than feeding and medical needs. Tolerating being handled can be misleading. For instance, nocturnal tree frogs will seem tame when taken out of the enclosure when they are actually naturally slow moving. In the other extreme if I take out one of my Poison Dart Frogs (which I wouldn't dream of) it would be gone in an instant because they are lightning fast and agile. Yes, some frogs seem to tolerate being handled better than others but they are not enjoying being handled and the more they are exposed to your skin and out of the proper temps and humidity the more damage they may be experiencing.
