Dabrute that was an example of a bad live feeding. I'm glad you are willing to be more careful next time. The part that bothers me the most is that you didn't even try to intervene with a pair of tongs/forcepts to stop the mouse from biting the frog.

These kinds of feeding can result in serious injury to you frog or worse even death. An adult mouse can easily put out your frog's eye/eyes and the bites can be dangerous due to infection.

It is also inhumane. The mouse suffered a great deal before dying painfully. The mouse was definitely much to large for your frog. Now you will also need to worry about impaction. Don't feed the King for at least 3 days then offer a couple Night Crawlers to act as a stool softener.

To me it looked close enough just because of its size compared to the King. If the frog had been larger this may have ended much more quickly for the mouse saving both it and the frog some pain.

It is always a thrill to see a live mouse get devoured by a large frog, but we must think of the well being of the frog and be prepared to jump in when something goes wrong.
