A few of us have one, that was claimed to be a GIANT LOL...don't they all get pretty big anyway?

I don't think it is a matter of a problem with having a Dwarf of a species.
I think it is a matter of principal, They were buying a certain species and got something
different.
I might be wrong, (as my wife like to point out.)
LCB is exactly right. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Dwarf species of Pyxi. Its the fact that you paid for a Giant and that is what you expected to receive, but instead your package contained a Dwarf.
When buying these animals you expect to get what you paid for and many people become disappointed when the business doesn't send you what you paid for and not only this, but they don't make good on the purchase by either refunding or sending what you paid for in the first place.
True!!!!!! Thanks

Nothing wrong with keeping a P. edulis AKA the Dwarf African Bullfrog. The situation to understand is the overall confusion on differentiating the 4 recognized Pyxicephalus species; and couple more that are either variants or unrecognized species at the moment (i.e. the Tanzania African Bullfrog). In the past the Mozambique Bullfrog (now P. angusticeps) were being sold as Dwarfs too.
Since babies/juveniles are similar to the untrained, you could end up with a different frog than what you wanted (i.e. a P. adspersus AKA GABF) so the main thing for those that want a giant and nothing else, is to learn how to ID and only buy a specimen they can see and choose after examination.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
thanks!!
I just wish dwarfs looked like small versions of giants. but they have such different features. long noses less bumps or ridges and different color. but yes it's just the principal of people who do not know what they are taking abt or worse yet knowing the difference and calling it something else.
i have a dwarf pyxie and my wife says it's very cute.......oh wait, you were talking about frogs, weren't you? lol

I love my dwarf, he is nearing 2 years old. I paid 60 for my adult at a LFS. Granted not a giant but they are fun.
They don't get "big" per-say mine is a the same size as my adult female giant.
Are dwarf species more expensive then giants, I payed £35 for what was labelled up to be a giant but then found out it was a dwarf
