I cant post pics but I believe He's nose rubbing he's in a 20gallon tank for now and I am getting him a 18x18x24 next month. it isnt really red though its a white color like its trying to heal, or i am thinking he didnt brush up against whatever it was very hard. i think its the silk plants i ordered from petco or the lid he is brushing up on. I was thinking of putting neosporin without the painmeds in it to move it a long.I see a lot of the other frogs with te rub and there rubs are really red, my frogs is white looking, it started of looking like to scratches one on each side of his face then one in the middle in between his nostrils.his nostrils are ok though.
I have one question.Does he have a place to hide?
yeah he has a hollow rock he goes under
I would keep an close watch on it,
If it gets worse then I would treat.
Can you post a picture of the enclosure?
i am not able to post pics i forgot to mention along with the hidey rock he as a bromeliad plant some vines and the silk plants. it doesnt seem to be getting any worse. he's eating well and acting normal.
Then I think the best thing to do is what you are doing now.
keeping a good eye on it and if it does seem to get worse then
the stress of treatment would be warranted.
Do you have at least the back and one of the sides covered
with a background?
An all glass enclosure can stress out a frog and that can cause
it to nose rub.
Yes i have it partly covered it. its strange cause i had him for 6 years and he just started doing this about this month and making one loud barking noise just one single bark. i am going to get that bigger cage next month.
