They usually live till 15 years old but taking care well the longest age on to ever live was 35. I'm hoping to have her live till al least 20. She is really old.Originally Posted by Hidr

never thought about keeping dove for a pet, there hunted here. grill them wrapped in bacon and there Delicious.

O_o sounds NASTY!!!!!! Doves are so small how could you eat it!!!. That is soooooo sadYou can't eat my bird. Doves are some what common pets in the US. they are pretty and have a beautiful voice.

actually they are pretty good kinda like a quail breast. i'm in the us as well its common for the southerners to eat them. but i'm sure there cool birds but not much different then other poultry just smaller they make good grilled sandwiches.

A dove is mainly bone. Yuck. I would NEVER eat a dove, pigeon quail, duck, geese. The only poultry I eat is chicken and turkey. I went to South Carolina and you could get salt and vinger crickets and meal worms. yuck.
