    Talking Greetings Everyone

    Hello all!

A friend recently surprised me by buying me a young (Hylarana Erythraea) frog!

This is the first time I've ever owned a frog, so I figured I should find a place to ask questions and find help!

Welcome aboard. Hylarana erythraea is one of the few Ranids I actually like. They are a semi-aquatic frog similar in habit to an American green or bullfrog. So you can keep them like a fire-bellied toad but with a greater amout of water. The bigger the tank you can provide the better as they are jumpers. I would go no smaller that a 20 gallon long.

He certainly has a pair of legs on him, a jumper for sure! I would very much like to invest in a larger enclosure for him, but I don't exactly have a lot of money right now... I'll have to look around and see what I can do...

About a third of his enclosure is water at the moment, you said he's semi-aquatic, should the enclosure be mostly water?

I think it should be mostly water. Search Craig's list and other resources for used tanks. Some pet stores also sell used tanks.
