I lost her companion in my work tank over the weekend. He was swollen and floating. I noticed she has this bump on her. It is hard, like a wart or something. Its not fuzzy. She seems to be moving around and interacting fine. I wanted to see what you all thought before I assumed it was normal.
well I am no expert by any means but that lump is not normal.
and I think that is a male. I think I see the gland that is behind the front leg that males
get.
I am glad to see that you have sand as substrate, what kind of filtration do you have and
I also see that you have a lot of snails.
I can't tell if that is a parasite or some kind of infection.
I would Email Dr. Fry dr.frye.dvm@sbcglobal.net
Thank you. I cant recall the filter but its a 3 stage for up to 5 gal. I did take the apple snail out and brought her home to my 55 gal tank. I will definately email him. thank you!
I emailed him but got an automated reply that he can focus only on healing as he has been in and out of the hospital. So he is unable to help. I havent seen her completely out from under her bridge yet today to see how she looks. I will let you know here in a bit when she comes out.
