    Default Home Depot Substrate?

Home Depot has a brick of coco fiber that they call a seed starting brick. Add water just like the coco fiber from any pet store, it doesnt say anything about having any fertilizer etc, and its half price of the stuff from the pet store. Anyone ever use it?

If there aren't any large bark chunks in it, it's worth a shot. Buy a brick to test first and make sure there aren't any dormant pests mixed in with it. I've bought cheaper coco fiber before and as soon as it was re hydrated, there were gnats everywhere. If you're positive there are no chems, ferts, additives, or pests, then it would probably be relatively safe.
