do you have facebook? they do auctions and grabs and neat stuff all the time. and they're nice people.
    Lobster Roaches
that's their storefront, and if the prices seem a little high for you, there's a link to their facebook page up top right. friend them and go nuts. actually, it sucks how often they have deals, cuz i'm just doing whatever and i see them and i want **** i can't afford. but yeah they have lobster roaches, and they are super nice people, too.

oops, i clicked further and they're out of stock. weird, cuz i thought they did their own breeding. they have hissers tho.

Thanks Crystal i will for sure get in contact with them. Last week i order 1,000 from a guy in vegas and most arrived dead because he packed with oranges. You already know me i want a large colony of both, so your information was quite helpful.

no prob. those are the people i got all of my dubia from. now i have to ship them off and i'm unsure of the best way to do it. i have one quart sized deli-cup and a bunch of pint sized ones. thinking of buying one or two more of the quarts from work tonight. they were sent to me all together in one, but they were smaller then, and i now have large nymphs and possibly a few new adults (definitely one new male). i want them to have room. i've got plenty of unused egg crate to stuff in there.

is it ok to ship males and females together, or should i separate them? just wondering if the males would fight if there were girls around in such a small space.
likely over-thinking it, but they have to go all the way to CA. i checked weather across country and at their destination and it won't be over 90 til sat. they'll likely be there thurs or fri, if i can get my act together and send them. i would just be so pissed and upset if my whole colony was destroyed through some dumb shipping error. heatheranne already warned me about shipping with moisture so i just haven't and every batch of babies i've sent have arrived safe and sound. hoping it goes the same for the adults!

a deli cup will be fine. as long as they are not over crowed they should be fine. shipping mixed sex's will also be fine. they wont do to much damage to each other, I have never seen a death result from males fighting each other. They mostly interupt breeding which you wont have much breeding while shipping anyway. Moisture is your biggest concern. ship with absolutly none. Also be sure to have ventilation in the shipping box as well as the deli cup. The more you ship the more ventalation you will need. I think your roaches will be fine.

Actually yes. I know little about this species though. can you give me the run down on them?
    Just the basics such as:
    How fast do they breed?
How long does it take from birth till maturity?
How do you personnally house them?

they're fast and they stink a bit i hear, but i think they breed quickly, but not like dubia, they lay casings i believe. my 2 cents on those.

and thanks. i got another quart deli-cup from work tonight. don't know how i'm going to vent the box they're being shipped in... i miss them already and they're not even gone yet.

Keep the box sealed or else it will get cold in the box. They will do fine as long as the container you put them in has vents.

thanks. i was just thinking that postal workers would be freaked about holes in a box labeled "live insects"... but i guess it depends where they're headed and the weather. initial sale of my colony fell through (my fault, refund issued), so i put them up for sale again. i hope the new buyer is more local to me.

Just my dubia colony, of which i know you don't need more of. When I counted them out, realized I had more than I thought, so bumped up the price to $55. but ebay lets people submit offers. Initially, I sold them for $45 with free shipping, but looking at other people's prices, I saw that was quite low and since they're young and 9 are sub-adults almost ready for their final molt, I put them back up for sale for more money. Don't want to get rid of them at all, but I can always get more down the road if so inclined. Picking them up, looking at their little faces, I knew I was going to miss them. oh my god i'm deranged.
