    Default Probe

Hi guys, I have moved Normans home from the top of my bearded dragon viv as the heat was coming from below and just drying everything out. He now has a heatmat on the side and I have ordered a thermostat to control it, question is where do I put the probe? I have a ventilation grill on the back so I was thinking of running it through there so the probe is in the tank, correct?

Hello Paul! You can run probe through the ventilation grill and then affix a couple in. from substrate level. That will give you a reading close to frogs living area. Good luck !

Hi Carlos, would placing the probe in the middle be ok?

Yes; if probe cord length does not reach bottom, you could first check and note any differences from temps in both positions. If none, you are done; if a degree or two just need to add to center reading in future .
