    Default Green frog Care

I have been looking for a while for some Green frog care articles. So far every time I look only Green Tree frog articles come up. If someone could link a site or even just post some care info that would be great because my tads are going to become frogs in a couple of weeks and I want to get a design plan started and think about a feeding schedule.

The Green Frog species includes two subspecies: the Bronze Frog Rana claimitans claimitans and the Northern Green Frog Rana claimitans melanota; not sure which one you have. A large enclosure (they jump very well) split 2/3 water and 1/3 land should do OK. Because of it's widespread habitat can say 75F day and 65F night will do, so normal room temp is OK. Also, 80% humidity will be fine. You can find some additional information here: http://blogs.thatpetplace.com/thatre...d-frog-part-1/. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

I keep one of these guys, a female, and honestly, they're not very bold captives. However, they are fun frogs and can live up to 7 years, so don't be discouraged from keeping one.

I recommend a 20 gallon long - 55 gallon for an adult, 20 being minimum. The care is prettymuch the same as that of the Northern Leopard frog: Frog Forum - Leopard Frog Care - Rana pipiens (Schreber, 1782) and R. sphenocephala (1886)

    Goodluck!
    My Amphibians:
1.0.0 Rana Catesbiana (Bumpy Digtoad )
    1.0.0 Pseudacris Regilla (Levi )
1.1.0 Ambystoma Macrodactylum (Urtham and Gargan )
2.2.0 Bombina Orientalis ( Rosa, Sasha, Aleksis, and Dimitri )

Rest in Peace, Gnag the Nameless, Chrome, and Thermidor

    Hi,

Thanks for linking to my green frog article aboe; w/c adults can be high strung, but then again some are calm from day 1. Give lots space, cover as mentioned by others, lots of dietary variety, occ. minnows impt, watch ammonia carefully. Pl let me know if you need anything, best, Frank
